EGTU AD 2.20  LOCAL AERODROME REGULATIONS

1  Airport Regulations
  1. Aerodrome is not available at night for flights required to use a licensed aerodrome.

  2. Aerodrome is not available at weekends and PH for helicopter training other than normal arrival/departures, due to free-fall parachuting.

  3. Any Dunkeswell outbound air traffic are to contact Exeter Radar/Approach as soon as possible after departure.

2  Ground Movement

3  CAT II/III Operations

Not applicable.

4  Warnings
  1. Glider launching takes place at North Hill (505107N 0031639W) West-south-west of Dunkeswell.

  2. Free-fall parachuting from up to FL 150 normally during daylight hours (ENR 5-5-3 refers).

  3. Use is made of the grass areas outside the runway strips for sheep grazing.

  4. Outside the Northeast boundary of the aerodrome, and separated from it by a public road, is a large paved area. It is not part of the aerodrome. Pilots should positively identify the displaced landing threshold to Runway 22 before committing the aircraft to final approach.

  5. The old perimeter tracks are unsuitable for use as a taxiway. Pilots are cautioned to only use established taxiways/runways for taxiing.

  6. Pilots should note the existence of three radio masts erected by the MOD within the aerodrome circuit. They do not constitute a hazard but pilots should be aware of their presence.

5  Helicopter Operations
  1. Helicopter pilots wishing to land at Dunkeswell should be aware of the designated area on the grass triangle in line with Runway 22 numbers.

  2. Pilots to call on RTF before starting rotors.

  3. No rotors are to be turning in the ATZ when parachuting is in progress.

6  Use of Runways

Runway 17/35 is not available to aircraft that require a licensed runway due to an obstacle within the Obstacle Limitation Surfaces.

7  Training

EGTU AD 2.21  NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

  1. Pilots are requested not to overfly Dunkeswell Village and local housing estate on eastern side of aerodrome below 500 FT AGL.

EGTU AD 2.22  FLIGHT PROCEDURES

1  Circuits
  1. Circuit directions: Runway 04 - RH; Runway 22 - LH. Circuit height: 800 FT.

  2. No overhead joins due to parachuting.

  3. No straight in approaches.

  4. No orbits in the circuit or on final approach, ie extend downwind or go around.

  5. Aircraft are to join downwind or base.
